Welcome to the website for the Plymouth Battalion of the Boys' Brigade. There are 7 Companies within the Plymouth Battalion serving Plymouth and the surrounding area. The Battalion aims to support the work the local Companies are doing with the young people who attend, whilst also providing the staff and helpers with the skills to be able to do this.
About the Boys' Brigade
The Boys' Brigade is the oldest uniformed organisation and has influenced many other organisations ever since Sir William Alexander Smith founded the first company in Glasgow in 1883.

Friday 18 May was Lord Mayor's Choosing ceremony in Plymouth and L/Cpl Kyle Tuckwell was requested to represent the Plymouth Battalion The Boys' Brigade.
This annual event is carried out in the Guildhall and is a ticket only event which lasts for about an hour and a half with a lot of ceremony as the office of Lord Mayor passes from one Councillor to another for a year. Kyle learnt a little bit of the history of Plymouth as well as Local Government politics during his first visit to the Guildhall.
Following the ceremony the invited guests proceeded to The Council House for light refreshments and also meet and greet The Lord Mayor, The Lady Mayoress, The Deputy Lord Mayor and The Deputy Lady Mayoress. Also whilst having a cup of tea Kyle was introduced to various City Councillors and his local MP Oliver Colville.
